EQSS APPOINTS CERTEK AS DISTRIBUTOR FOR IRELAND

Equipment Safety Systems, a global leader in safety technology for mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs), has appointed Certek Ltd as its official distributor for Ireland.

Based in Mullingar, Ireland, Certek will represent EQSS’s range of MEWP secondary guarding solutions across the Irish market with immediate effect, providing local product supply, spare parts, training, demonstrations and technical familiarisation.

Certek has more than 20 years’ experience in the Irish access industry, with significant knowledge of access equipment, rental operations and work-at-height safety. They are an IPAF member, and Certek Managing Director, Enda Geoghegan is the Vice Chair of the Irish IPAF Council and a member of the IPAF Training Committee.

Ireland’s active construction market, including continued investment in major infrastructure and data centre projects, has created strong demand for MEWPs including scissor lifts, vertical mast lifts and low-level access equipment. With safety requirements increasingly central to major projects, the partnership will make EQSS secondary guarding systems more readily accessible to rental companies, contractors and equipment users throughout Ireland.

“We want to make OverWatch and UpWatch available on all jobsites in Ireland,” said Enda Geoghegan, Managing Director of Certek. “We firmly believe in improving safety for people working at height, and partnering with EQSS gives us the opportunity to bring proven secondary guarding technology directly to the Irish market.

“One of the major advantages of the EQSS systems is their versatility. They can be retrofitted across different makes and models of equipment, making them a practical solution for rental fleets and contractors operating mixed fleets.”

“Certek is an ideal partner for EQSS,” said Andrew Delahunt, Global Business Manager at EQSS. “They bring extensive knowledge of the access industry together with a strong focus on safety, training and customer support. Having that expertise on the ground will allow us to better support Irish rental companies and contractors and make our secondary guarding technology more accessible across the market.”

The partnership will initially cover EQSS’s OverWatch and UpWatch secondary guarding systems.

OverWatch is designed specifically for scissor lifts and vertical mast lifts, while the new UpWatch solution has been developed for low-level access and push-around vertical (PAV) platforms. Both systems use advanced LiDAR sensing technology to monitor the operator and help reduce the risk of entrapment and crushing incidents while maintaining normal machine operation and productivity.

EQSS secondary guarding technology is already widely in use across international markets, including Australia, the wider Asia-Pacific region, the UK, Europe, and United States. Designed for straightforward retrofit to existing machines, the systems can be deployed across mixed fleets without being limited to a single MEWP manufacturer.

EQSS will officially launch UpWatch at Vertikal Days 2026. Visitors will be able to see working demonstrations of both the OverWatch and UpWatch systems throughout the two-day event.
