Summary: OverWatch does not collect, store, or share any personal information. The app communicates only with your OverWatch
hardware device over your local Wi-Fi network and with EQSS servers solely to download firmware update files. No analytics, no advertising, no accounts.

 

1. Who We Are

OverWatch is developed and published by Equipment Safety Systems (EQSS), an Australian company. This policy describes how the OverWatch mobile
application handles information when you use it.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, transmit, or store:

  • Your name, email address, or any account credentials
  • Location data (GPS or otherwise)
  • Device identifiers, advertising IDs, or fingerprinting data
  • Usage analytics or crash telemetry sent to third-party services
  • Any data from your contacts, camera, microphone, or photo library

3. How the App Works and What It Accesses

3.1 Local Network (Wi-Fi)

The app connects directly to your OverWatch hardware device over your local Wi-Fi network (IP address 192.168.4.1). This connection is used to:

  • Retrieve device diagnostics and status pages
  • Run tests on the connected device
  • Apply firmware updates to the device

All communication stays on your local network. No data from this connection is sent to EQSS servers or any third party.

3.2 Internet Access — Firmware Updates

On startup the app contacts overwatch.eqss.com.au to check for and download firmware update files. The request includes no personal
information — only a standard HTTPS request is made to retrieve a version manifest and, if an update is available, the update file.
Downloaded files are saved to your device’s local storage so they can be applied to your OverWatch hardware while connected to the device’s Wi-Fi
network.

3.3 Local Storage

The app stores the following data locally on your device only:

  • Downloaded firmware update file(s)
  • A local version manifest (JSON file) used to determine whether a new update is available

This data is not backed up to any cloud service by the app and is not accessible to EQSS.

4. Permissions Requested

  • Local Network — required to communicate with your OverWatch device on your Wi-Fi network.
  • Internet — required to download firmware updates from EQSS servers.

No other permissions are requested or used.

5. Children’s Privacy

OverWatch is a professional tool intended for use by adults operating EQSS equipment. The app is not directed at children under the age of 13
(or the applicable age in your jurisdiction) and we do not knowingly collect any data from children.

6. Third-Party Services

The app does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or crash-reporting SDKs. The only external network contact made by the app
is to overwatch.eqss.com.au (operated by EQSS) for firmware updates.

7. Data Security

Because OverWatch does not transmit personal data, the privacy risk to users is minimal. Firmware update downloads use HTTPS. Local network
communication with the OverWatch device occurs over your private Wi-Fi network.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify users through the app or the app store listing. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
